Seasoned Logs for Sale

Our Seasoned Logs for Sale

Need seasoned logs that are actually dry? That's what we do. Our seasoned firewood is barn dried and ready to burn, delivered right across the Black Country and the wider West Midlands.

Quick note on the names, because it trips people up. Seasoned and barn dried mean the same thing here. Our logs are stacked under cover and left to dry naturally, with air moving through them, until the moisture drops low enough to burn clean. Some folk call that seasoned, some call it barn dried. Same logs, same result. A proper fire without the wet-wood hiss.

What seasoned barn dried logs means

Seasoning is just drying. Fresh-cut wood is full of water and won't burn properly, it hisses, smokes and gums up your flue. Season it and that water works its way out until the wood's ready.

Ours dries in the barn, out of the rain, with plenty of airflow. Takes months. But it's worth it, because you end up with logs that light easily and give you real heat instead of a smouldering, spitting mess. That's the whole point.

What is the difference between kiln & barn dried logs?

Kiln dried are force dried (around 15% moisture) and burn hotter and more efficiently, they are recommended for burning on new stoves. Barn dried are naturally dried (around 20% moisture) and will burn for longer but not hotter, they are recommended for open fires and older stoves.
