Buying firewood online

Ordering firewood from us is straightforward. You buy online, we sort the rest.

Once your order's in, we text you to arrange a delivery time that actually suits you. No all-day waiting in. We work to one-hour slots, so you know roughly when the van's turning up. Pick a morning, an afternoon, whatever fits round your day.

Delivery is across the Black Country, South Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. We're local, so we're not posting logs across the country in a courier van. It's our own delivery, our own people.

If you're buying your logs elsewhere you will be totally satisfied with Black Country Firewood. The quality of the wood and the very friendly prompt and efficient service. Give them a try. Which Firewood Should You Buy?

Depends what you're burning it on, and what you want out of it.

Hardwood is the one most people are after. Ash, oak, birch. It's dense, so it burns slow and puts out steady heat for hours. Ideal for a log burner or multi-fuel stove you want ticking over all evening. Our 100% ash is about as good as hardwood gets, lights well and burns clean.

Softwood lights fast and burns hot, but it burns through quicker. Great for getting a fire going, taking the chill off, or an outdoor burner where you're not fussed about it lasting all night. Cheaper too.

Mixed gives you the best of both. Softwood to get going, hardwood to keep it there. If you can't decide, this is the safe pick.

Got a pizza oven or a chiminea? You want kiln dried hardwood, and ideally the thinner logs, they get up to temperature fast and there's no smoke ruining the food.

Still stuck? Ring us. We'll ask what you're burning on and point you at the right bag. That's the advantage of buying from people who actually know their wood.

Do I need to be in to receive delivery?

No, payment can be made over the phone or via the website and we can drop off in a suitable place.

How long will bulk firewood bags and loose trailer loads of logs last?

On average, if you light your fire 4-5 nights a week (typically from 5pm to 9pm), a standard bulk firewood bag will last between 6 to 8 weeks.

For customers who prefer a larger supply, a loose trailer load of logs is the most efficient choice; most of our local customers find that 1.5 trailer loads provide enough heating for an entire winter season.

Naturally, this depends on the efficiency of your stove and whether you are burning high-heat kiln dried ash or seasoned hardwood.

How soon do you deliver?

We are normally only a couple of working days away and will give you a 1 hour timed delivery slot, sometimes we can even deliver the same day! For example we will arrange to be with you on Wednesday between 9-10am.

How is delivery arranged?

Once the order is received from the website we will text or phone with our soonest availability, if that time/day is not suitable we will arrange a mutually suitable delivery slot. Or speak to us on the phone to book a slot.

What if it is raining?

The delivery vehicles are sheeted so the bags and loads are covered from the rain. If the logs do get rained on once unloaded it is only the external moisture that is affected and it will easily dry off.
