Delivery Guide

Description

We make all of our log stores 'in house' at our Firewood Centre, as well as offering the set sizes on our website, we are also able to make a shelter to suit your requirements. Just send us your dimensions (sales@blackcountryfirewood.co.uk) and we will 'quote you happy!'

Our log stores are built in house with locally sourced UK grown timber. We use pressure treated TanalisedTM Timber for ultimate long term protection against wood decay and insect attack. They are built to last!

Delivery is free within 8 miles of Bobbington (DY7 5DX).

There is a small charge if you are a little further way and we can deliver using our own vehicles. If being delivered by our own vehicles they can be delivered flat packed and assembled on site so they can be carried through small spaces or up narrow alleyways.

We can deliver these nationwide using a man in a van style courier. This service typically costs around £95, ring or email for a quote for a bespoke store and delivery.

3 easy steps to keep warm and cosy

Delivered to your door on a day that suits you

No waiting around. Choose a day that works for you and enjoy stress-free deliveries, straight to your door.

Are the logs left in the bulk bag?

Yes. We leave the logs in the bag so they are left nice and tidy when delivered.

Do you charge for the bags?

We do not charge for the bag as we like to have them returned so we can either re-use or recycle them depending on their condition. We will collect the empty bag when we deliver next time.

Do I need to be in to receive delivery?

No, payment can be made over the phone or via the website and we can drop off in a suitable place.

How long will the bags and loose loads of logs last?

Our average customer lights there fire 4-5 nights a week, from 5-9pm. In this instance a bulk bag will last 6-8 weeks, if you choose a loose load most people use 1.5 loads a year.

How dry are the logs?

Our Barn dried are around 18% moisture and Kiln dried are around 12% moisture
Anything under 20% is classed as ready to burn.

What is the difference between kiln & barn dried?

Kiln dried are force dried and burn hotter and more efficiently, they are recommended for burning on new stoves. Barn dried are naturally dried and will burn for longer but not hotter, they are recommended for open fires and older stoves.

How soon do you deliver?

We are normally only a couple of working days away and will give you a 1 hour timed delivery slot, sometimes we can even deliver the same day! For example we will arrange to be with you on Wednesday between 9-10am.

Can you deliver multiple items at the same time?

Yes, we can deliver a log store and the logs at the same time. We can also deliver up to 6 bulk bags or 3 loose loads with one truck, and can use up to 4 trucks if required.

How is delivery arranged?

Once the order is received from the website we will text or phone with our soonest availability, if that time/day is not suitable we will arrange a mutually suitable delivery slot. Or speak to us on the phone to book a slot.

What if it is raining?

The delivery vehicles are sheeted so the bags and loads are covered from the rain. If the logs do get rained on once unloaded it is only the external moisture that is affected and it will easily dry off.

Where is best to store my logs?

All the logs we sell are ready to burn, so they do not need to be stored in a traditional log store with airflow. They can be kept in a garage or storage box. Logs can also be stored outside; while the external surface may pick up some moisture, the internal part stays dry, which is what matters for burning. That said, the drier you keep your logs, the better they will perform.
